The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 introduced a statutory duty on Local Authorities to prepare and publish a Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP).
The Merseyside Rights of Way Improvement Plan, a 10 year strategy to improve the local network of Public Rights of Way for everyone to use has now been published.
The five Merseyside Authorities in conjunction with Merseytravel have prepared this joint plan, which covers the entire County of Merseyside.
